Witnessed by Juha Sipilä, the Prime Minister of Finland, President of Tongji University, Prof. ZHONG Zhihua, and President of Aalto University, Prof. Ilkka Niemelä signed a Cooperation Agreement in Beijing on June 29, 2017. The signed agreement include the Cooperation Agreement between Tongji University and Aalto University about Shanghai International College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University and its annexes.

On signing the agreement, both parties looked back on the cooperation history and looked into the future of cooperation in education, research, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

Shanghai International College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University (Shanghai D&I) was established after approval by the national authority in February 2016. It is an institution of “Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools” and its first international partner is Aalto University.

Shanghai D&I will welcome its first students in September 2017.
