On Jan.16, 2018, The founder of Slush & Angry Birds, Peter Vesterbacka, was appointed as Adjunct Professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Shanghai International College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University. After this appointment, Peter Vesterbacka will spend three months each year working in Tongji University and he will be working on the World Innovation and Entrepreneurship EXPO 2018 organized by Tongji University, and also on pushing forward the education in innovation and entrepreneurship of Tongji University, and the cooperation in technology, innovation, social economy between China and Finland.

Peter Vesterbacka is a global entrepreneur from the Heart of Eurasia, Helsinki, Finland. Branded communities co-created and initiated by Peter include the HP Bazaar, Mobile Monday, Slush and Startup Sauna to name a few. He was the Mighty Eagle at Angry Birds for many years taking that brand to unprecedented heights. In 2011 Time Magazine named Peter one of the 100 most influential people on the planet. At the same time, he is also the founder of SLUSH, the world’s leading startup event.

Peter Vesterbacka is an old friend of Tongji University, who came to Tongji for the first time in 2010 and has been attending various events of Tongji University. In 2012, he donated the Angry Birds Square to Tongji University which is now located in D&I. Tongji University has always been the partner of Slush in Shanghai.
