Research on the Parameter Optimization of Dyschromatopsia Population Confuse Color Model Based on Underground Transportation Space
Principal Investigator: WU Duan
As color has the benefit of fast reading and highly cognification, they are widely used to help communication between space and users especially in underground spaces which have huge amount of information and users. Because of the current color design for the public space sign system has not taken the recognition of dyschromatopsia into consideration, this crowd has inconvenience on the normal public city life, travel safety, and implied security risks.
It is possible to help the dyschromatopsia user raise color recognition by appropriate color choices while at the same time not affecting the normal users’ color recognition rate. Therefore, to explore appropriate signage system color design through dyschromatopsia color model research and design could help improve the problem. In this study, we will take dyschromatopsia as the research object, take underground railway station signage system as the research cases, with the basic theory and findings in chromaticity and signage system recognition design principles to start research. Through color model transformation
calculation and experiments on dyschromatopsia sample tests, try to use the findings of CIElab color model, a model based on color calculation of dyschromatopsia crowd to develop a HSV color model and CMYK model which is more suitable for color design application. Afterward try to establish a verification system to test the color cognification.
